The adjoining spacious kitchen is superbly equipped for enthusiastic cooks and outside catering companies or just a great place for making a cup of late night cocoa. The south facing first floor sitting room with delightful views over Bath to the green hills beyond, is the perfect place to relax on big cosy sofas after a day of work. There are three luxurious bathrooms. Two bathrooms have huge double ended baths and big walk in showers, the third is a funky wet room with shower and WC. A utility room with washer/dryer and WC adds to the convenience of the house. The pretty courtyard garden is perfect for BBQ and summer drinks.
More About Rennie House: built from the famous golden Bath stone, Rennie House is comfortable, warm and quiet while being very close to the centre of town. The south facing house is spread over five floors with light streaming in through large sash windows looking out across the town to the hills beyond. There are seven bedrooms, two singles and five with twin or super king beds. One of these also has a single bed. Each bedroom has a distinctive character with subtle colour schemes and wallpapers as the backdrop to a charming mix of vintage and contemporary furniture. There is ample hanging and storage space and good mirrors in every bedroom. Beds are handmade by a traditional English company. Goose down duvets and crisp Egyptian cotton sheets guarantee a relaxing night of comfort and luxury. Individual toiletries are provided for each guest. The house features original art and if you fall in love with any of the pictures they can be bought from the artist. Parking for up to four cars.
At the centre of Rennie House is the beautiful dining room with Bath stone walls, wood panelling and a black Victorian cooking range creating a wonderful, comfortable atmosphere for relaxed meals around the huge oak table seating fourteen. Lounge on a pew from a Devon church and watch others whip up a banquet in the fabulous black wood kitchen with a range cooker, American fridge freezer and two dishwashers to cut down on drudgery. Out and about in Bath: Rennie House, built in 1768 when Georgian Bath was being developed, is a perfect example of a five storey Georgian town house. Jane Austen’s parents were married in St Stephen’s church Walcot, a few hundred yards from the house. Today Walcot is famous for art galleries, design and antique furniture shops, groovy cafes and vintage shops. On Saturday, browse in the antique market after brunch at Ben’s cafe then walk a little further down Walcot and you are in the centre of Bath with its Roman Baths, intriguing individual shops and numerous tourist attractions. Nowhere is far to walk in Bath. Criss-cross the town dip in and out of the shops and marvel at the beautiful yellow Bath stone Georgian terraces and crescents. You can swim in outside heated pool on the roof of the Thermae Spa in the natural warm waters which gave Bath its name. If you fancy a taste of the country, take a boat trip through fields to Bathampton Mill for a drink and a meal. Nowhere offers more than Bath
