Jane Featherstone, an employee of Mouchel Parkman took her family along to the event and is pictured at the Archery stand “I would like to say from my viewpoint that I had never been to anything like it before and didn't know what to expect. It was a brilliant day which did cater for all age groups with a mixture of fun, excitement and competitiveness in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Both my boys aged 6 and 11 are still talking about it now and my 14 year old daughter who didn't go wished she had”! For the younger folk a children’s’ area included a soft play area for the really young, inflatable slide and bouncy castle and 5-a-side inflatable arena with Topper the Clown providing the entertainment. The day culminated in a fun and competitive School Sports Day event with mixed teams of Parents and children competing at Sack Race, egg & spoons, three legged and wheel barrow races and well as a medley of relay races as shown in the photo. The Herman Miller Fun Day was held at the excellent Hartham Park in Wiltshire and had a very different style of event for their staff and families with a traditional Village Fayre style. A range of side stalls provided the centre piece to the event with traditional Coconut Shy and Roll a Penny as well as the more wacky events such as Tin Can Alley. Splat The Rat and Froggit and Herman Miller providing their own Welly Wanging and Human Fruit Machine. A children’s area also included inflatable slides and large Pirate ship but also the very high Cascade slide (pictured) and 4 Face Painters kept both Kids and Adults looking great! Other entertainment included The Herman Miller band, specially formed for the event, Blazing Saddles, the Country & Western band provided Line dancing and a Punch & Judy for the Youngest children. The unique Sticke Tennis court, one of only two in the UK and three in the World, provided the ideal venue for indoor Human Table Football and various teams competed against each other during the afternoon event. Sally Exten, one of the Herman Miller event team commented “I would like to say a big thank you to you and your team for helping to make the day such a success. I know I was very demanding at times but you all took it with a pinch of salt and I couldn’t have done it without you. The feedback has been wonderful and everyone had a Fun Day” |
